Family & representative contact

A separate path for people directly affected by a case

Victims’ families, authorized representatives, and people directly affected by a case need a private route for factual, privacy, sensitivity, relationship, source, or copyright concerns that is separate from public research submissions.

What this channel is for

  • Factual correction concerns.
  • Privacy or unnecessary personal-information concerns.
  • Sensitive-image or graphic-material concerns.
  • Concerns involving minors.
  • Relationship or identification corrections.
  • Source disputes.
  • Copyright concerns.
  • Other case-publication concerns from affected people or representatives.

What this channel is not for

This is not a criminal-tip channel and LAST KNOWN is not law enforcement. Actionable information about an unresolved homicide should go to the verified official authority shown in the relevant case record.

How private requests are handled

Submissions are written to the restricted family/representative review system. They are not published to the archive or public contribution surfaces, and ordinary signed-in users do not receive direct access.

Editorial independence

A family or representative request receives dedicated review but does not automatically rewrite the canonical case record. Material changes still require source review, editorial decision-making, and a visible correction or publication revision where appropriate.
